An Irondequoit man says his evening at Durand Eastman Park turned into an ordeal when he found his car was locked inside before the posted closing time.
Nick Foos says the closing time is listed as 11 p.m., but it was already locked up Tuesday night when he tried to leave around 10.
He called 9-1-1 but was told police couldn't find the key.
After waiting four hours, he walked out and left his car.
County Parks Director Larry Staub tells 13 WHAM a guard drove through the park at 10:15 p.m. and "did not see any vehicles parked in any of the designated parking areas." Staub says the guard was allowed to lock the gate at that hour if no vehicles are observed.
