Lawmakers in Albany are making a last-second push to legalize marijuana before the end of the legislative session. Reports indicate that there aren't enough votes to pass the measure in the State Senate, and that a second version of the legislation is now making the rounds. Specifically included is a more far-reaching decriminalization statute, expunging of records, and expansion of the medical marijuana industry. Negotiations apparently continued early into this morning on this version of the bill, which contains funding for law enforcement, road safety programs, and school health campaigns.
