Monroe Co. Executive Wants to Fight Illegal Immigrants Driver's License Law

Republican Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo says she wants to fight the new state law allowing illegal immigrants to get driver's licenses.

She argues the law puts the state at odds with the federal government, endangers public safety and rewards law breakers.

A county lawsuit would first require approval of the County Legislature.

The issue is surfacing ahead of Tuesday's primary election for County Executive that will decide whether Dinolfo, or Democratic County Clerk Adam Bello, will be on the Independence Party ballot line in the November election.
