A Hilton man accused of selling so-called "ghost guns" pleaded guilty in federal court today (Wed) to a charge of dealing in firearms without a license.
Phillip Rizzo Jr. admits he took advantage of a loophole in federal gun laws, buying non-working gun kits online and doing the machine work needed to turn them into fully-functioning weapons. He then sold two of those guns to an undercover informant, leading to his arrest.
Such weapons are called ghost guns because they don't have serial numbers.
Rizzo apologized in court, saying he knew what he was doing was wrong, but he was hard up for money.
