Illegal Immigrants' Ability to Obtain NYS License Moves to Chamber Vote

The state Assembly transportation committee has passed a bill that would allow illegal immigrants to get a New York driver's license.

The full Assembly will get the chance to vote on the legislation next Tuesday.

The bill was blocked for years in the Senate when Republicans had the majority, but even though Democrats are in control now, there's no guarantee it will pass.

Governor Cuomo has made passing the legislation one of his top priorities before lawmakers leave Albany June 19th.
