City Schools Revise Improvement Plan

The Rochester City School District is submitting a revision to its reform plan in response to the recent report by Distinguished Educator Jaime Aquino.

Back in April, the State education commissioner MaryEllen Elia weighed in on the district's initial plan, calling it "unrealistic" and said it failed to "include an overarching, coherent vision for district improvement." She gave the district until the end of last month to rewrite the plan.

Today the district unveiled its revised report which included a list of priorities and a realistic timeline of key interim and completion milestones for implementation. And an explanation of how senior District leadership will organize their roles and responsibilities to monitor and evaluate implementation of the plan across departments.

The 65 page plan is available on the district's website.
