Monroe County deputies are issuing a warning about a phone scam.
They say the scammer poses as a member of the department and tells the person who answered the phone they have to pay a fine to avoid being arrested.
Officials say someone reported the scam after following the scammer's directions to buy 900 dollars in Google Play cards from Best Buy and give the scammer the card numbers.
The sheriff's department is asking anyone with information on the case to contact them.
