High Winds Could Causing Flooding Along Lake Ontario Shoreline

Winds and the high water level on Lake Ontario could be a bad combination tonight and tomorrow.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning, starting at 5 p.m., for the lakeshore in Wayne, Cayuga and Oswego counties. The weather service says lakeshore flooding may increase, especially in bays, inlets, and other low lying areas along the shoreline.

And the waves will cause shoreline erosion.

The warning will be in effect until 11 a.m. tomorrow.
