Sentencing is set for today for a man convicted in a deadly baseball bat beating in Rochester. Jimmie Wright was convicted in March on a first-degree manslaughter charge.
He was accused of striking Jean Mejias-Vargas in the head with the bat last June at an address on Joseph Avenue. Mejias-Vargas died weeks later at the hospital.
Wright faces 5 to 25 years in state prison.

Rochester, N. Y. (WHAM) - A Rochester man was convicted Tuesday of killing another man with a baseball bat last summer. A Monroe County jury found Jimmie Wright, 23, guilty of first-degree manslaughter in the death of 22-year-old Jean Mejias-Vargas.
