Republican Congressman John Katko is supporting a bill to assist millions of Americans struggling with student debt.
Katko is working alongside Democrats on legislation giving borrowers who have to declare bankruptcy the chance to have their student loan debt forgiven.
A similar proposal was introduced back in January, but it's still stuck in the committee process.
