TRAFFIC ALERT: Part of I-390 Reduced to Two Lanes For Next 4 Months

The State DOT is warning travelers about delays along the I-390 corridor. A stretch of the highway southbound between Lexington and Lyell Avenues has been reduced to two lanes. Crews are working on bridges carrying I-390 over the Erie Canal. Southbound traffic was reduced to two lanes Tuesday morning. Northbound traffic will be reduced beginning Friday, May 3.These lane reductions are expected to last through the summer. The I-390 southbound on-ramp at Lexington Avenue will also be closed during this time. A detour will take drivers down Lee Road and allow them to access I-390 at Ridgeway Avenue. The State DOT says delays are anticipated. Drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes during times of peak traffic.
