REPORT: Woodstock 50 Cancelled

The Woodstock 50 festival that was being planned for Watkins Glen this August, has reportedly been cancelled.

The cancellation is being reported by Billboard.com. They published a statement from the agency funding the festival that said in part "...we don’t believe the production of the festival can be executed as an event worthy of the Woodstock Brand name..."

Tickets were supposed to go on sale last week, but the start of ticket sales was postponed.

Published reports last week said the festival still hadn't received a mass gathering permit from the New York State Department of Health.

More than 80 bands and performers had been scheduled to perform during the three-day festival.
