A Livonia woman is facing charges after State Police say she tried to defraud the Livingston County Board of Elections.
State Police with the help of the Livingston County District Attorney’s Office arrested Shannon Dougherty for Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument.Authorities say she unlawfully possessed Livingston County Conservative, Republican and Independence Party Election Petitions containing forged signatures.
Our Bob Lonsberry reports that Dougherty is a newly elected village trustee and the cousin of Livingston County Sheriff Thomas J. Doughtery, who is not involved with the investigation.
She was arraigned on the charge and released on her own recognizance.
