The University of Rochester will allow some armed security supervisors to have access to all parts of the campus.
UofR President Richard Feldman says the decision was made after a committee considered a broader proposal to allow regular armed patrols. That proposal is not being enacted.
About half of the campus security officers are armed, but those armed officers only work at the Medical Center and Strong Hospital.
