The number of flu related deaths in Monroe County continues to rise. The County Health Department says, as of April 13th, 19 people have died as a result of the flu this season.
Speaking to reporters earlier today -- Infectious Disease Specialist at Rochester Regional Health, doctor Ed Walsh, says this season was longer than usual.
There have been more than 57-hundred lab-confirmed cases of the flu this season -- with 945 of those patients needing to be hospitalized.
