Electric Car Sales Surge in New York State

Governor Cuomo says record numbers of New Yorkers are buying electric cars, with sales jumping by 63 percent last year.

The Governor's Office says there are nearly 37,000 electric vehicles of all kinds on New York State roads, up from fewer than 25,000 in 2017. That supports Cuomo's Green New Deal, which calls for reducing greenhouse gas emissions 40 percent by 2030.

The governor says the infrastructure for charging all these EVs is also spreading out across the state.
