The Monroe County Legislature is approving an increase in reimbursement rates for local Preschool Special Education service providers.
In a bipartisan vote last night, the Legislature passed legislation proposed by County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo to set new contracts that would raise all County-set reimbursement rates by 15 percent.
Preschool Special Education is a state-mandated program that provides services to special needs children between the ages of 3 and 5.
Dinolfo is calling on lawmakers in Albany to do something similar and fund its Early Intervention program.
