Rochester Stabbing Suspect Makes First Court Appearance

The suspect arrested in the stabbing death of a young Rochester woman has made his first court appearance.

Twenty-seven-year-old Ronald Pilgrim, of Greece, was arrested Saturday night -- about 12 hours after Cherylann Jackson was found dead at her apartment on North Clinton.

Pilgrim is charged with second-degree murder. He pleaded not guilty this morning, but as he left court he reportedly said out loud "I did it".

Jackson's family members were upset by the comment as Pilgrim was led out of court. Assistant District Attorney Michael Harrigan says he hopes to bring peace to Jackson's family.

Pilgrim is being held without bail.
