State Reverses Cut in Special Olympics Funding

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo is hailing a decision to reverse a cut in state funding for the Special Olympics.

The state budget had proposed cutting $50,000 from the funding Special Olympics New York receives every year from the state. Governor Cuomo's office says budget writers inadvertantly changed the number of that appropriation line. Governor Cuomo had money reallocated from other programs to make up the gap.

County Executive Dinolfo says cutting funding for the Special Olympics was wrong when President Trump did it, and wrong when implemented by Governor Cuomo. She says she's glad both realized the error of their ways.
