Seneca Falls Supervisor Wants to Pull Funding for Women's Hall of Fame

The Seneca Falls Town Supervisor is submitting a proposal that would eliminate donations and financial support from the town to the National Women’s Hall of Fame.

Town Supervisor Gregory Lazzaro says he submitted the proposal after his office received calls from people who were not happy with announcement that Jane Fonda would be inducted into the Hall of Fame this year. In the early 1970’s Fonda traveled to North Vietnam in opposition of the Vietnam War. The proposal submitted by Lazzaro reads “Out of respect for the Town’s many veterans who proudly served our nation any support for this outrageous induction choice should be vehemently opposed.”

The proposal will be considered at the next town board meeting on April 2.
