The Henrietta Town Board has turned down a proposal to put a Dollar General store in West Henrietta.
Plans called for the store to open on a vacant lot near the corner of West Henrietta and Erie Station roads -- near homes dating back more than 100 years.
Critics said the store would not fit with the character of the neighborhood. It's not known if Dollar General will try to find another site in Henrietta.
