NYS Police Cracking Down on Drunk Drivers This Weekend

State Police and local law enforcement will be watching closely this weekend for drunk drivers. Saint Patrick's Day weekend patrols begin today and run through Monday.

Travelers can expect to see more sobriety checkpoints as police look to get unsafe drivers off the road.

Last year, 243 people were arrested statewide for drunk driving during Saint Patrick's Day weekend.

Troopers say St. Patrick’s Day is one of the deadliest holidays due to the number of drunk drivers on the road.
