A ranking by The Wall Street Journal puts Rochester last on the list of the nation's 53 hottest job markets.
The Journal looked at all metropolitan areas with at least one million people. The analysis showed that last year, Rochester had a 1 percent job growth rate, a 2.2. percent wage growth rate and a one-tenth of one percent increase in labor force growth. The number one market on the list was Austin, Texas. The other markets with high marks includes San Jose, California; Salt Lake City, Utah; Boston; Orlando and Raleigh.
