The Mount Morris man who was convicted in a deadly crash last June that killed a three-year-old boy and wounded the boy's cousin is going to prison. Frank Cassata was sentenced today to 25 years to life in prison.
Cassata was accused of intentionally driving his car into a group of people along Lyell Avenue after arguing with a man nearby. Prosecutors say Cassata was aiming at that man on the sidewalk, but missed and hit the others. After hitting them, he drove off and crashed into another car at Lake and Phelps Avenues.
Cassata was found guilty of second degree murder, vehicular manslaughter, leaving the scene and DWI.
