Six people escaped a house fire on Wednesday morning. The fire started in the kitchen on the first floor of a two-family house on Flint Street around 1 a.m. Fire crews say one of the adults in the house was cooking when they fell asleep. They woke up to smoke and flames and alerted everyone in the house. The people in the other apartment heard the commotion and were also able to escape.
