The Monroe County Health Department says six people have died of the flu this season...compared with 11 deaths reported by this time last year.
The latest monitoring data from the health department says two of the fatalities were people in the 50-to-64 range. The remaining deaths were in people 65 or older. There have been more than 2,400 lab-confirmed cases of the flu this season, roughly half the number of cases last year to date.
