The Monroe County Heroin Task Force and the Greater Rochester Area Narcotics Enforcement Team have wrapped up a long-term investigation by arresting six people on drug and weapons charges.
Search warrants were served at multiple locations in the City of Rochester and in Greece today with the assistance of state and federal agencies. In addition to six arrests, police, deputies and federal agents seized close to half-a-pound of heroin, plus fentanyl, crack cocaine and marijuana. They also recovered about $50,000 in cash and a stolen handgun.
DA Sandra Doorley says this is the sort of investigation authorities had in mind when they set up the Heroin Task Force.
