Governor Cuomo is ditching a plan to ban stretch limos. He had been pushing for it since a crash last fall in Schoharie that killed 20 people and involved a stretch limousine.
Those vehicles are typically used for events such as weddings and proms.
Limo companies hit back at the governor after he announced the proposal, arguing that it would cripple their business.
Federal law states that stretch limos must meet national safety regulations.
