RCSD Interim Superintendent to Return to Work Following Hospitalization

The Rochester City School District says interim Superintendent Dan Lowengard fainted yesterday during a meeting at the Central Office building.

He was alert right away, but he was taken to the hospital as a precaution and was kept for observation.

The District released a statement today saying Lowengard is feeling better and is expected to be discharged from the hospital tomorrow.

He is expected to return to work shortly thereafter.

Lowengard served as interim superintendent in 2016 as well, and he had to step down after suffering a stroke.

The district released the following statement:

"Interim Superintendent Dan Lowengard is feeling better today and in good spirits. He expects to be discharged from the hospital on Wednesday, and he will return to work shortly thereafter.

Mr. Lowengard expresses his appreciation for everyone's well wishes and support."
