The Monroe County Medical Examiner has released more detailed statistics about the drug overdose deaths during the first six months of last year.
Of the 99 deaths in the county, 96 involved fentanyl. Of those who died, 66 were men and 33 were women. And the deaths spanned all age groups -- including 6 involving people older than 60.
The Monroe County M.E. also investigated 37 overdose deaths from outside the county -- and the ratios were similar.
The report is intended to be used to assist in tracking overall trends in local overdose fatalities.
