Former State Assemblyman Arraigned on Federal Charges

Former state Assemblyman Joe Errigo has pleaded not guilty to federal charges.

He and lobbyist Robert Scott Gaddy were indicted Monday on charges of conspiracy, bribery, and wire fraud.

The charges involve legislation needed in Albany for a large re-development project in the City of Rochester getting federal funds.

During their investigation, federal agents arranged for a contact to approach Gaddy with an offer to bribe a different assemblyman. Gaddy allegedly helped plan the bribery scheme involving that Assemblyman and Errigo.

A source tells WHAM1180's Bob Lonsberry, Errigo wore a wire for federal investigators in meetings with several Rochester area politicians.
