Gov. Cuomo says NY is Strictly Enforcing Ban on Tractor-Trailers and Buses

Governor Cuomo says the state is serious about enforcing the ban on tractor-trailers and buses on parts of the Thruway and I-81. He says troopers have already ticketed a number of violators.

Cuomo says the fines and penalties are stiff. And he says drivers of big rigs who have an accident will be held responsible for the cost of the emergency response.

Cuomo says the ban is not news to the trucking companies. He says they were notified yesterday and the day before.

The ban is in effect on the Thruway between the Pennsylvania state line and Henrietta, and on 81 between the Thruway and the Canadian border.
