Two Convenience Stores Target of Attempted Robberies

Rochester police are investigating two gunpoint robbery attempts less than 30 minutes apart at two city convenience stores. The first one was not successful, and the second one was.

The first happened shortly after 12:30 yesterday afternoon at the Tango Enterprises Mini Mart at 417 Monroe Avenue. Police say the person with the gun got into a struggle with an employee and left empty-handed.

Around 1 p.m., an armed robber left with cash from the Speedway Gas Station at 1810 Mt. Hope Avenue.

Rochester police aren't saying if the two similar crimes, less than 30 minutes apart, are connected.
