Pittsford, NY -- The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is hoping to shake loose some new leads in an unsolved double homicide dating back 55 years.
The bodies of 18-year-old Shari Smoyer, of Perinton, and 17-year-old Jack King, of Geneseo, were found July 14, 1963, north of Bushnell's Basin, in a fishing area at a "Lover's Lane."
Both had been shot with a Colt .45 and neither had been robbed or sexually assaulted.
They had been on a date at a drive-in movie the previous evening, and were last seen driving through the Village of Pittsford around 1 a.m. on the day their bodies were found.
