A court hearing is set for today for Holly Colino -- the woman who pleaded not responsible by reason of mental disease in connection with a fatal shooting in Brockport.
Colino was charged in last year's random shooting death of Megan Dix of Lyndonville as Dix ate her lunch in her truck in a parking area.
Defense and prosecution experts agreed at an October hearing that Colino wasn't aware what she was doing was criminal. Experts found Colino to be suffering from schizo-affective disorder. Social media posts she made prior to the shooting showed she believed people were copying her to steal her identity.
The Commissioner of Mental health may provide an opinion today that could determine how long Colino will be kept in a secure psychiatric facility.
