A Rochester man already on probation is facing more trouble for allegedly bringing a gun to Marketplace Mall.
The Sheriff's Office says a Sheriff's Deputy spotted Derick Peters Wednesday in the mall and recognized him as a person on probation without a valid drivers license. He was then seen leaving the mall and driving away. When deputies stopped his car in the parking lot, they say he made a run for it -- tossed his gun into the grass and was finally caught across West Henrietta Road.
Peters was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, obstructing governmental administration and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Authorities say the gun was loaded with six rounds of ammunition.
