Senator Schumer says he has been assured that the Harris Corporation merger with L3 Technologies won't mean job losses at Harris in Rochester.
The new company will be called L3 Harris Technologies and will be headquartered in Melbourne, Florida.
Schumer says he was told by the Harris CEO that the merger potentially could bring more jobs to Rochester. Harris has more than 3,700 employees in Rochester. L3 also has a plant in our area, in Victor.
The merger is expected to be complete by the end of next year, and the combined firm will be the nation's sixth largest defense company.
