Trial Date Set for Republican Congressman Chris Collins

A Manhattan federal judge is setting the trial date for Republican Congressman Chris Collins, who's been accused of insider trading.

The representative for New York's 27th Congressional district allegedly tipped off his son concerning a failed drug trial for a biotechnology company they had heavily invested in.

The trial is set to begin in February of 2020. Prosecutors were pushing for an earlier trial date, and say they worry if Collins wins re-election next month, his attorneys will look to delay the proceeding further.
