Man Convicted of Attempted Murder Following Webster Home Invasion

A Monroe County Jury has convicted a man in connection with a home invasion robbery on Lake Road in the Town of Webster in November of 2015.

The Monroe County District Attorney's office says 30-year-old Travis Hill was convicted today of attempted murder, two counts of burglary, robbery and two counts of assault among other charges.

Authorities say Hill and co-defendant Michael Earlsey Jr. ambushed victim Thad Swift outside his home. Hill was accused of shooting at Swift several times, while Earlsey tried to rob Swift's wife at gunpoint. Earlsey fled the scene, and was arrested a short time later. U.S. Marshals arrested Hill in May of 2018.

Earlsey pled guilty to attempted burglary in January of 2017.

Both men will be sentenced next month.
