Authorities say a man who was rescued after jumping off the Irondequoit Bay Bridge is getting an evaluation at a hospital. The incident happened shortly after 9 a.m.
State police spokesman Mark O'Donnell says the first troopers to get to the bridge saw the man alive in the water and got two men in a fishing boat to rescue him.
O'Donnell says it was fortunate the fisherman were there. It would have taken longer for a marine rescue boat to get to the man.
