Judge Formally Ends Lawsuit Involving NASCAR driver Tony Stewart

A judge has formally ended the lawsuit brought by the parents of Kevin Ward -- the racer who was struck and killed by NASCAR driver Tony Stewart in 2014 in a sprint car race in Canandaigua.

The two sides reached a confidential settlement in April, and the judge yesterday dismissed the case -- pending any procedural issues.

Stewart was never indicted on criminal charges, but Ward's family claimed he recklessly swerved toward Ward to intimidate him.
