Sheldon Silver Won't be Granted Bail While Appealing Corruption Conviction

Former New York State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver won't be granted bail while he appeals his corruption conviction and his seven year prison sentence.

A federal judge in New York City says Silver's appeal lacks merit. Silver was sentenced in July and is due to report to prison October 5.

Silver was found guilty of using his office to enrich himself.
