Sentencing Hearing Postponed Again For Abigail Hernandez

A sentencing hearing today for the illegal immigrant who made threats in February against East High School has been postponed a week to allow time for an exam of her cognitive ability.

Abigail Hernandez pleaded guilty in June to a misdemeanor charge of falsely reporting an incident. Moments after that guilty plea she was detained by immigration authorities, and a required exam was not done. She will be held at the Monroe County jail until her next court date, next Tuesday.

She is expected to be sentenced to time served and probation. Hernandez still could face deportation. A hearing on her immigration status is set for next Wednesday.
