Rochester Awarded Grant by Tony Hawk Foundation for Skate Park

The City of Rochester is one step closer to securing all the funding they need to build a skate park downtown. City officials have announced that the Tony Hawk Foundation has awarded the city a $250,000 dollar grant for the project.

That money is in addition to one million dollars from the state, part of the 50 million dollar state funding package for the ROC the Riverway redevelopment project downtown.

The skate park is among 13 ROC the Riverway projects along the Genesee River.

The skate park is planned for space under the east end of the Susan B. Anthony/Frederick Douglass Bridge.
