Work Begins To Replace Bridges Over The Thruway

Manchester, NY -- Road crews are beginning work to replace the Route 21 bridge over the Thruway in Manchester.

The bridge will be closed until the middle of November. The detour for cars is County Road 7 and Outlet Road.

The new bridge will have safety improvements, including increased height clearance for Thruway traffic, wider travel lanes, an improved approach pavement and wider shoulders.

Meantime, crews have also begun to replace the Whiskey Hill Road bridge over the Thruway in Seneca County. That bridge is also expected to reopen in November.
