Guilty Pleas In Rochester Cocaine Ring

Rochester, NY -- A Rochester woman has pleaded guilty to federal charges she coordinated at least 25 shipments of cocaine by mail from Puerto Rico to Rochester between last September and January. Federal prosecutors say roughly 110 pounds of the drug was sent here, and payments were sent via mail and wire transfers.

Leitscha Poncedeleon admitted working with several others to store and package the cocaine for sale at 292 Barrington Street in the city. Police raided the home January 29 and one suspect was shot in a gunfight.

Co-defendant Orlando Yelder, pleaded guilty to federal drug and gun charges.

Both defendants are scheduled to be sentenced this fall.
