Head of Monroe Co. Jail Temporarily Relieved

The head of the Monroe County Jail has been temporarily relieved while the Sheriff's Office investigates the slip-up on Thursday that allowed an inmate to be wrongly released from custody.

Superintendent Ronald Harling was relieved Friday, and Undersheriff Korey Brown is serving as superintendent until further notices.

The inmate's court case Thursday was dismissed and he was released, but another case was pending and he should have remained in custody. He was taken back into custody a short time later.
