The national average gasoline price has tipped upwards, but the statewide average continued to drop over the last week, down to just more than $3.00 per gallon.
The average for the five-county Rochester region is $2.96, down two cents from last week. Buffalo is unchanged at $3.00, and Syracuse is up by a penny at $2.92.
The price drop is slowing because national gasoline supply is down and production has fallen a bit. Crude oil supplies are also dropping as gasoline demand stays high.
The AAA expects gasoline prices to stay high through the summer and into the fall.
