State AG Suing Rochester-Based Home Improvement Contracting Business

The State Attorney General is suing a Rochester-based home improvement contracting business for deceptive ads and failing to perform promised services.

A restraining order prohibits Alvis Sprague and Sarah Crawford from operating a home improvement business and freezes their assets.  The suit alleges that they and their friends posted fake reviews online to promote their business, A-S Contracting. And they allegedly took deposits for work they did not complete.

Sprague allegedly spent the deposit money at casinos.

The lawsuit seeks $52,000 in restitution for defrauded consumers and $50,000 in costs and penalties.
