Two Corruption Trials Involving State Officials Get Underway

Two corruption trials involving state officials will be in the news this week.

Opening statements are expected today in the federal bid rigging trial of former SUNY Poly President Alain Kaloyeros, two Syracuse developers and Buffalo developer Louis Ciminelli. An executive at Ciminelli's company already pleaded guilty and is expected to testify.

Meantime, jury selection begins tomorrow for the retrial of former state Senate leader Dean Skelos and his son. They were found guilty in 2015 but their conviction was overturned on appeal.
